The written sections of telc Deutsch B1 and the DTZ (Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer): 5 telc B1 practice tests (300 questions) and 3 DTZ practice tests (135 questions). All content is original practice material in the official format; it does not include the oral exam (Sprechen) or an official certificate.
The DTZ (Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer) is the final exam of the German integration course (Integrationskurs), run by g.a.s.t.; there is no pass or fail, and the result is level A2 or B1. telc Deutsch B1 is a certificate exam with a pass mark, and its written part also includes Sprachbausteine (language elements).
The written part takes 100 minutes without a break: Hören about 25 minutes, Lesen 45 minutes, Schreiben 30 minutes. The oral part (Sprechen) is taken in pairs and lasts 16–20 minutes.
The DTZ has no pass or fail; each part gets its own level. Hören and Lesen are scored together out of 45 points (33 or more is B1, 20–32 is A2), Schreiben out of 20 points (15 or more is B1, 7–14 is A2). The app's DTZ practice tests show your result as A2 or B1 using the same bands.
telc Deutsch B1 has 300 points in total: 225 for the written exam and 75 for the oral exam. To pass, you need at least 135 points (60%) in the written part and at least 45 points (60%) in the oral part. The app scores its telc tests with the same official 225-point calculation and 60% pass line.
The written exam has four sections: Lesen (reading), Sprachbausteine (language elements), Hören (listening) and Schreiben (writing). Lesen and Sprachbausteine share 90 minutes, Hören takes about 30 minutes, Schreiben 30 minutes. All four are in the app with the same structure and timing.
